My name is Carla and here is part of my story:
I've been a member of various gyms over the years not really knowing what I was doing. I've battled with mental health problems most of my life and fitness is the one thing that's helped me massively.
I really started my fitness journey around 3 years ago.
I joined a running club alongside going to the gym. Within 3 months the club helped me run my first half marathon - The Great North Run. From there I decided I wanted to help others get into running and became the clubs beginner coordinator. I did my Leadership in Running Fitness course with England Athletics, set up the Couch to 5K plan and helped over 40 people complete their first 5K Parkrun.
I then decided I wanted to make a bigger difference, have more choice in what I could help people with, and decided to become a Personal Trainer.

Carla took the time to find out what I wanted to achieve and then tailored a plan to help me achieve it. Unfortunately lockdown got in the way of our sessions but she checks in regularly and gives me lots of support and encouragement to keep doing what I can at home.
Carla took the time to pick exercises that I could do that were also challenging and this was encouraging. Other PT’s have set me exercises that I’d never be able to do and this is disheartening.
